Croatia is a wonderful and affordable holiday destination, and Zadar on the Dalmatian coast certainly offers experiences beyond the ordinary.

Go on an outdoor adventure

Zadar is a holiday gem in Croatia located in Dalmatia on the Adriatic coast with atmospheric labyrinthine streets, historic buildings and beautiful beaches. The Croatian archipelago is a short boat trip away and there are plenty of opportunities to visit roaring waterfalls or go river rafting on the idyllic Zrmanja River with its crystal clear waters. The city is adorned by a long seafront promenade, where you can also enjoy an exceptionally beautiful sunset.

Visit Plitvice Lakes National Park where you can sail across Lake Kozjak, hike on the graceful bridges over the many lakes or enjoy the sight of beautiful waterfalls surrounded by wild nature and the Dinaric Mountains.

Zadar is almost synonymous with the azure sea, beautiful beaches and many hours of sunshine - but remember the sunscreen. Perhaps spend a day enjoying the popular Saharun Beach with its pristine white sand and crystal clear waters.

If you don't have time to go out of town, you can also take advantage of the fact that you are never far from the coast, for example Kolovare beach is practically a stone's throw from the city life of Zadar.
