In Aarhus Airport, the month of November starts with the reopening of a popular route. The easyJet route from Aarhus Airport to London Gatwick is again ready to fly customers from East Jutland to the popular metropolis, which is also the airport's largest international destination - and just in time for Christmas shopping!

Figures from VisitBritain show that Danes from 2008 to 2018 increased holiday visits to the UK by over 56% during the Christmas period from October to December. Over 25% of Danes' trips to the UK took place in the months of October to December, and over 61% of visits in 2018 went to London, where shopping in particular is one of the major holiday activities.

“easyJet's reopening of the route gives mainland Denmark even more opportunities to travel to London. Gatwick-Aarhus is a strategically important route as Gatwick is a very popular airport providing easy and quick access to London for both leisure and business travelers. At the same time, it is a clear signal that easyJet sees great potential in the Aarhus region when the airline chooses to fly from Aarhus Airport, as its only airport in Jutland, ” says Peer H. Kristensen, CEO of Aarhus Airport.

With the recommencement of service to Gatwick, Aarhus Airport now has two routes to London. Ryanair has flown the route to Stansted for 20 years. With two services in operation, to northern and southern London gateways, it becomes even easier and more flexible for customers to go on Christmas shopping breaks to this most favourite of global cities.
